62nd Annual Salado Christmas Stroll

62nd Annual Salado Christmas Stroll & Parade

SALADO, TEXAS, August 1, 2022 – The 62nd Annual Salado Christmas Stroll kicks off at 6pm with its Christmas Parade Thursday evening, December 1, 2022. The parade begins at Royal and Main Streets on the South side of Salado traveling north on Main Street and ending at the Salado Civic Center.

The parade is the official opening of the historic Salado Christmas Stroll for two weekends including December 2-4 and December 9-11, 2022. This year’s event follows the winding sidewalks and street lights that frame the one-mile Main Street of Stroll festivities.

Salado businesses will host a variety of Stroll events during each weekend including Outdoor Live Nativity at First Baptist Church, live performances of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol at the Tablerock Amphitheatre of Salado, and live music at various venues along the route. Tickets for the Tablerock performances can be purchased at CentralTexasTickets.com. A full list of daily events can be found on the Salado Chamber of Commerce website, www.salado.com.

A Christmas market will be hosted on both Saturdays, Dec. 3 and Dec. 10 from noon to 6:00 p.m. at Barrow Brewing Company, 108 Royal Street, Salado.

Free parking is available throughout the Village of Salado, including the Salado Civic Center, Brookshire Brothers, First Baptist Church of Salado, Church of Christ and more. The Village of Salado provides free shuttle service throughout both weekends.

About the Village of Salado

Salado, Texas, located on Interstate I-35 between the cities of Waco and Austin, was an original stop for the stagecoach lines and was home to the first co-educational college in the State of Texas. Salado was founded at the Old Military Road crossing of Salado Creek on October 8, 1859, coincident with the conception of Salado College. Founded by early Scottish settlers because of its plentiful springs and rich farmland, Salado became a center for commerce and culture. Today, Salado is a destination for a thriving creative arts and business community with an emphasis on providing visitors a unique shopping, dining and lodging experience.
